Introduction:
A.
God is
the supreme being of the universe.
The Creator of all things,
and the first person of the Godhead.
1.
Man is
compelled to worship God because of who He is and what He is.
2.
The
better understanding we have of God, the more man desires God.
3.
As man
learns more about God, he realizes that he is dependant upon Him for life,
material blessings, and salvation.
B.
The
Bible is a history of man’s relationship with God.
1.
The
purpose of the Bible is to relate the development of the scheme of
redemption.
2.
The
Bible shows throughout the history of man, whether he is has pleased or
displeased God.
C.
It is
needful that man understand God and His will.
1.
Without
a proper understanding , man will worship God in ignorance.
2.
The
starting point of religion is a true knowledge of the true God.
3.
The
purpose of this lesson will be to present matters about God that are vital to
know.
I.
Qualities of God.
A.
God is
all powerful – omnipotent.
1.
Genesis
18:14 – “Is any thing too hard for the LORD?”

Job
26:14 – “14 Lo, these are parts of
his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power
who can understand?”
3.
Isaiah
26:14 – “They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not
rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory
to perish.”
B.
God is
present everywhere- omnipresent.

15:3 - The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the

C.
God
knows everything – omniscient.

D.
God is
changeless – immutable

Character of God.
B.
He is holy - 2 Ki 19:22
“Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou
exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One
of Israel.”
C. God
is just – Rom. 3:26 “To declare, I
say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of
him which believeth in Jesus.”
D.
He is
faithful – 1 Cor. 1:9 –“God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the
fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.”
E.
He is
longsuffering – Rom. 2:4 – “Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and
forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee
to repentance?”
F.
He is
compassionate – Psa. 111:4 – “He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered:
the LORD is gracious and full of compassion.”
G.
God is
loving – 1 John 4:8 – “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is
love.”
H.
He is
kind – Luke 6:35 “But love ye your
enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall
be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the
unthankful and to the evil”

He is
merciful – Romans 12:1 – “I beseech ye therefore brethren…..”

What God has done for us.

Man’s
Primary obligation in life is to fear God and obey Him.

demands obedience to His will.
